Kailah Ruffen

Kailah Ruffen was born and reared in the beautiful Central Florida city of Winter Haven.  Upon graduating from Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School, she entered Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University as a junior and earned the Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science with a minor in public administration.


After serving as a passionate educator  to middle school students teaching civics in the Polk County School System, she accepted a new position with the City of Winter Haven as the Organization Development Administrator. She loves empowering people with accurate information and compassion. She also finds great joy in sharing anything she can to help others along the way. 



All who know Kailah will attest that she welcomes opportunities to pay it forward.

Serenity Bryce

Serenity Bryce is an Omaha, Nebraska native who relocated to Atlanta, GA, to pursue her academic passions at Clark Atlanta University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Political Science, graduating in 2021. 

Following her graduation, Serenity became the Program Associate for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., where she is committed to empowering her generation and educating her community about their rights.

Dedicated to bridging generational gaps, Serenity is committed to creating pathways for connection and dialogue. Her passion for social justice and community engagement drives her efforts to inspire positive change and uplift those around her.

National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW) is a
501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization founded in 1981.  NCBW advocates on behalf of Black women and girls, promoting sisterhood, striving for maximum community impact, and preparing our youth for a bright future. NCBW's mission is to advocate on behalf of Black women and girls to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment.

NCBW is currently led by our National President, Virginia W. Harris - a respected public servant and community leader with over 20 years of experience as County Auditor for Gwinnett County. 

She holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration, along with certifications as an Internal Auditor and Government Financial Manager. Virginia is also a graduate of the Harvard University Non-Profit Leadership Program.

Dr. William H. Boone

Dr. William H. Boone is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Political Science at Clark Atlanta University, where he has held several leadership roles, including Associate Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies. He earned his doctorate in political science from Atlanta University and has contributed to various academic institutions, including Morgan State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Boone has produced and hosted television programs like "Politically Speaking" and "Black Perspectives," and has served as President of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists. His research focuses on black political parties, legislative activities, and the impact of government actions on rural communities. He is active in professional organizations and frequently consulted by the media.
Dr. Boone has received multiple awards for teaching and scholarship, including Teacher of the Year and recognition from the Georgia State Legislature.

Judge Glenda A. Hatchett

Judge Glenda A. Hatchett. Judge Hatchett is not only a world-renowned judge, but she also volunteers her time to serve on the President's Advisory Council for NCBW. She is a prominent attorney with more than 40 years of experience which encompasses a multitude of legal responsibilities. Currently, Judge Hatchett is Of Counsel with the law firm of Stewart Miller Simmons based in Atlanta, Georgia, handling cases throughout the nation.

Representative Derrick Jackson

 Derrick Jackson represents Georgia’s 68th District and is a retired U.S. Navy officer, corporate general manager, adjunct professor, and community leader. 

Jackson has received multiple accolades for his community leadership, including Fayette County Citizen of the Year in 2013 and the 2019 Civil Servant of the Year RICE Award. He also received the 2019 Georgia House Democratic Caucus Chairman’s Award and was named one of Atlanta Business Journal’s Top 25 Extraordinary Atlantans.

Currently a doctoral candidate in public policy at Walden University, he is a member of honor societies such as Golden Key and Pi Alpha Alpha. Derrick is married to CaMia Jackson, a former state representative, and they have seven children and one grandson. He is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, a Silver-Life member of the NAACP, and actively involved in various non-profit organizations and his church.
